Our Story

In 1985 Options on 8 Pregnancy Resource Center, previously known as Options for Women, opened its doors as the only pregnancy resource center in Polk County. Its mission was to serve moms (and dads!) who found themselves in unexpected pregnancy situations.

That mission continues today.

Initially, our center, known then as the St. Croix Valley Crisis Pregnancy Center, was located in Amery, Wisconsin. Later, a second office, the Osceola Total Life Center, opened in Osceola. Eventually all services moved to another location and our outreach expanded to serve Burnett, Polk, and northern St. Croix counties and our name became Options for Women/Tri-County.  With our new location on 2048 US Highway 8 St. Croix Falls, we now have a new name: Options on 8 Pregnancy Resource Center.

Our services have always been entirely free to clients, thanks to the generosity of our donors and the volunteers who serve by fund-raising, sorting donations, providing leadership on our Board of Directors, and much more. Names and faces have changed, but the dedicated support of LIFE in our communities has not.

Over the years, the mission has remained the same. To provide women a safe, judgement-free environment to weigh their options. No one should have to make such a life-altering decision without the proper understanding of how that decision will affect their lives.
